On November 7, 2022, the 31st International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence - China (IJCAI 2022 China) kicked off at the Yanzi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center in Pingshan, Shenzhen, China.
As we all know, since 1969, IJCAI has been an important conference that brings together international AI researchers and is an important platform for everyone to exchange the latest progress and achievements in AI research.

This year, IJCAI-ECAI 2022 was held in Vienna, Austria, but due to the impact of the New Crown epidemic, many Chinese scholars could only present their research results online. In order to give many Chinese scholars an opportunity to communicate offline, so the IJCAI Council authorized the IJCAI 2022 China Organizing Committee to deliberately hold this International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence - China Conference (IJCAI 2022 China ).
In addition, IJCAI 2024 will be held in Shanghai, this International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence - China (IJCAI 2022 China) is actually a warm-up series of meetings for IJCAI 2024, and IJCAI 2024 Conference Chairman Zhang Chengqi also served as the honorary chairman of IJCAI 2022 China.
The conference invited Chinese scholars whose papers were accepted by IJCAI-ECAI 2022 to share the latest research results and scientific progress in the field of artificial intelligence. The Forum on Addressing Climate Change.
The opening session of the conference on the morning of November 7 featured keynote speeches by Academician Gao Wen of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor Zhihua Zhou, Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence at Nanjing University.

Academician Gao Wen delivered a speech titled "VCM: Machine-Oriented Video Coding", in which Academician Gao Wen said that in the current urban brain system, there exists a large amount of image and video big data, and these exponentially growing data far exceed the current perceptual capacity and contain a large amount of invalid information, in order to improve the performance of intelligent applications in the urban brain system, Academician Gao Wen's team proposed A new visual computing framework, which becomes digital retina, will be combined with efficient sensing models and emerging machine vision coding (VCM) paradigms to effectively support big data analysis and retrieval of video in smart city systems.
And Prof. Zhihua Zhou gave a talk titled "Open Environment Machine Learning", in which Prof. Zhou talked about how, due to the great success of machine learning, more and more practical tasks today will involve open environment scenarios, but the shift of machine learning from closed to open environments is a great challenge, Prof. Zhou introduced the research area of Open Environment Machine Learning (Open ML) Theoretical Issues.

After the two invited talks, the conference moved to parallel breakout session presentation sharing, where more than 100 researchers who presented papers at IJCAI-ECAI 2022 shared their relevant papers either on-site or remotely. Although some participants were unable to attend the conference due to the epidemic, those who could attend the conference naturally cherished the opportunity to communicate offline in person, and the atmosphere was enthusiastic.
(During the first day of the conference, attendees communicated with Prof. Yang Qiang between presentations in the AI Model Auditing and Supervision Forum)
The conference also continued on November 8, with Party Secretary Li Qingquan of Shenzhen University and Chief Scientist Zhang Zhengyou of Tencent releasing keynote speeches in the morning. A signing ceremony to launch a joint innovation center for artificial intelligence and digital economy in cooperation with Shenzhen Vocational Institute of Technology and Bright Labs was also held at the end of the two speeches.

At the same time there are three heavyweight forums.
The first forum, "Artificial Intelligence Model Audit and Supervision Forum", aimed to discuss the frontier technology of model intellectual property protection research, with a number of scholars delivering speeches related to topics such as model watermarking, model authorization, model audit, model supervision, model and dataset traceability, and model anti-theft and malicious dissemination.
The second session, "Privacy Computing and Federated Learning Forum", will discuss frontier technologies and applications of privacy computing and federated learning in order to promote the development of these research areas.
The third session, "Artificial Intelligence for Climate Change Forum", will discuss how AI technology can contribute to carbon neutrality and sustainable development.
The conference gathered many domestic colleagues in the field of AI from academia and industry to exchange the most cutting-edge theoretical research and technical achievements, thus promoting the collaboration and innovation in the field of AI in China. The response to the conference was overwhelming and we are looking forward to IJCAI 2024.
