On October 20-21, an international symposium on "Translation Education in the Context of the New Era - Innovation in Teaching, Research and Practice", which is one of the series of activities for the 40th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations Translators Training Course (UNTTC)/Senior Translation Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), was held at BFSU. The theme forums were "Translation and Translation Education in the Age of Technology", "Research on Translation and Translation Education in the Historical Dimension" and "Construction of Undergraduate Translation Teaching Platform Based on Corpus and Its Application". The closing ceremony was held by Beijing Foreign Studies University.

This symposium is another academic event hosted by the School of Advanced Translation Studies of Beijing Foreign Studies University after the "Symposium on Translation Practice and Translation Education in the New Era and Observation Activity on Simultaneous Interpretation and Translation Teaching in Multilingual International Conferences" held from December 1-3 last year, which will further consolidate the position of Beijing Foreign Studies University in the field of translation education, research and practice in China.
