Choosing the right electronic product
1. High Definition, Flicker Free, Low Blue Light

Prioritize products with clear picture quality, no visible flicker, and a blue light rating of RG0 to reduce eye irritation.

2. Proper Brightness & Contrast

The brightness of the projection equipment and TV should be moderate, and the contrast ratio should be sufficient, so as to reduce the burden of eye adjustment.

Tips: The illumination uniformity of the projection equipment should be not less than 80%, the brightness should be 200~400cd/m², and the contrast ratio should be not less than 500:1. The brightness uniformity of the TV or monitor should be not less than 70%, the brightness should be 300~400cd/m², and the contrast ratio should be not less than 1000:1.

3. Wide Angle of View

Ensure that the screen brightness remains consistent regardless of the viewing angle to reduce eye strain.

Tips: Projection equipment should have a brightness viewing angle of not less than 120°. The horizontal and vertical brightness viewing angles of a TV or monitor should be no less than 120° and 60° respectively.

4. Bigger screen for better eye protection

A bigger screen means you can sit farther away and reduce eye strain.

Tips: Projection equipment has a screen no smaller than 80 inches. Televisions or monitors have a screen size of no less than 60 inches.

5. Adjustable color temperature

Warmer screens are gentler for longer periods of time and help keep your mood calm.

Developing Healthy Usage Habits

1. Restriction of time of use

Avoid contact with electronic products before the age of 3, use them as little as possible between the ages of 3 and 6, and use them for non-learning purposes for primary and secondary school students for no more than 15 minutes at a time, for a total of no more than 1 hour per day.

2. Correct Posture & Distance

Maintain a good sitting posture, keep a proper distance between your eyes and the screen, and avoid hunching over or lying down to watch the screen.

Tips: When watching TV, the distance between your eyes and the TV screen is 4 to 6 times the diagonal length of the TV screen. When watching a computer, the distance between your eyes and the computer screen should be greater than 50cm (about an arm's length away). When using cell phones and tablet computers, the distance between your eyes and the screen should be greater than 30cm.

Choose larger fonts and line spacing to reduce the burden on your eyes and improve reading comfort.

3. Optimize the use of the environment

Adjust the position of the desk to ensure that the ambient light is similar to the brightness of the screen, and avoid strong light shining directly on the screen to reduce glare.

Tips: In the sunny daytime, the monitor should be facing the white wall that is not directly illuminated. If the illumination in the room is insufficient, you can turn on the overhead light and pay attention to the light to avoid direct light on the screen and reduce the screen glare. Cloudy days or evening should also be timely light.

4. Use caution at night

The use of electronic products at night can easily lead to visual fatigue, affecting melatonin secretion and interfering with sleep, and should be avoided as much as possible.

Through the above suggestions, not only can you select the right electronic products for your children, but also guide them to develop healthy habits of use, and work together to protect your children's bright eyes, and while enjoying the convenience of science and technology, let your eyes get the care they deserve, and grow up healthily.
